That sounds like a good idea, how much do you give your dog, would like to know as a friend of mine has dog that has the same problem.

Oils are essential in all diets. You should not eat them in excess, but there are benefits to eating oils and fats. avoid hydrogenated oils, but for example, olive oil is good. Of course remember in MODERATION. Deep frying will always be bad.

coconut oil saved my tooth that the dentist said I would either have to have a root canal on or have it pulled. I had neither and that was over two years ago. I did oil pulling with extra virgin coconut oil (from the health store) and when I woke up the next morning, most all of the infection that made me go to the emergency room in sever pain was gone and I had no pain at all. I continued with the oil pulling and never had to go back to the dentist. I took about a teaspoon of the oil and swished it around in my mouth constantly for at least 20 minutes than rinsed really good with sea salt and brushed my teeth. Some people can be allergic to it but most people aren’t. Coconut oil has saved my tooth so I think it is amazing!

It’s rather disheartening to see anyone touting coconut oil as a cure for serious conditions like chlamydia. Seriously? And cleansing? Unless something is wrong with your kidneys and liver, your body is already as internally cleansed as it’s going to get. That’s what they were made for. Some of this is good info, but a great deal of it is hokum, and it’s just too bad that people are being mislead with the latter.

    • Renee

Robin, you should do your research, before you post your comments. Your answers are so off base and incorrect. No, coconut oil won’t cure Chlamydia, but it has many positive, rejuvenating effects on the body, especially if bad, hydrogenated oils and refined foods have been a part of the diet. Heart disease, high blood pressure, colon cancer, and, yes Croin’s disease can be prevented or helped by using high quality virgin coconut oil, as a primary oil, in the diet. I only use coconut and olive oil. Both parents died of heart disease, my HD cholesterol is great, ad at almost 70, no signs of cardiac problems!

I have severe asthma and severe mold allergies. My asthma doctor has me on a boat load of prescription meds. Duller my maintenace inhaler leaves a low grade yeast infection in my mouth. My mold allergies are so bad when mold counts are high I am pretty much homebound sometimes for days, weeks even months! Desperate to find a way to get off some of these meds and get some kind of quality of life back I started researching coconut oil. I read where coconut oil has a fat that is very healing to the lungs. I thought why not try it. I only use a teaspoon or two a day and it has helped me get completely off the Dulera!!! I haven’the used my Albuterol inhaler since I have been on the coconut oil either! I have also researched into higher doses of vitamin C and started taking more C about a month or so after starting coconut oil. I can not believe the difference in my lungs. My Asthma is much better but my allergies are still pretty severe at times. I tried 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in the beginning and it made me nervous. So I backed down and am kinda playing withis what I can tolerate. Also, I have suffered from IBM since I was a child, now 45 years old. Coconut oil has really helped calm my IBM too. I have used in my face many times for a conditioner, my face for a moisturizer and on skin irritations. I know my allergy doctor is going to flip when he finds out what I have been doing, but I don’t care! Oh, he also had me on 2 shots of Xolair a month for my severe Asthma. Very expensive injections. They only helped about two weeks, keeping me fromore using Albuterol. Coconut oil hels 4 weeks out of the month every month. I even quite for a week and I noticed my lungs weren’t as strong. Went back to it and started breathing better immediately! So, if you have Asthma it is worth it to try it. I have been very pleased!

A fairly accurate site, with some inaccuracies, ie: true VIRGIN coconut oil will keep 3 years or more without refrigeration. Processed coconut oil, however has a much shorter shelf life. It also lacks most of the beneficial enzymes and nutrients mentioned on this site. I have been using pure, Virgin Coconut oil for over 20 years, and have become educated about it, as it was still considered a, “bad” oil when I started using it, in! My advice, don’t go cheap, buy for quality and online and not in the grocery or health food store.
